Police said on Friday that security forces recovered a large cash cash of weapons including 203 weapons and explosives, in which police said on Friday during separate joint search operations in the hill districts of Manipur.
Police said that from midnight to early hours of July, a wide discovery was made after specific intelligence input.
Arms recovered among others include 21 Ins Rifles, 11 AK Series Rifles, 25 SLR, two sniper rifles, three carbines and two grenade launchers. Security forces also recovered 30 doodle explosive equipment (IED), 10 grenade, 29 number 5.56 rounds, and 8.62 rounds of 80 rounds.
“The presence of a large cache of materials like weapons, ammunition, and other war hidden in various places was acted on specific intelligence, coordinated operations were launched at several sites simultaneously, which Tangnupal, Kangpokpi, Chandel, and the interior in Churchandpur district and staged in the suspected areas of Churchandpur district.
“The Manipur Police reiterated its commitment to promote a peaceful and safe Manipur,” he said.
The incident barely comes a month later a month after the large arms made by the security forces since violence erupted in the state in May 2023.
A total of 328 weapons and 8,665 mixed ammunition were recovered during the said operation.

More than 6,000 weapons and more than one lakh yields were looted from the state forces since ethnic violence erupted in the state on May 3, 2023.
To recover the looted weapons, the state government is in coordination with other security agencies, operating.
In addition, the state was robbed at the nearest police stations or security camps to take no punitive action against such voluntary surrender and illegally surrender arms.
