4 Maoists killed in an encounter in MP's Balghat. Bharat News

On Saturday, four Maoists, including three women, were killed in an encounter with security forces in dense forests of Balghat. The joint campaign was carried out by Hawkforce, District Police and CRPF.

The encounter took place in the forest areas of Pachmadar and Ketziria. The forces continued to comb the area as part of an operation involving a large number of personnel. The operation was launched after input, about their movement, achieved yesterday evening.

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav said that adequate weapons cash, including grenade launcher, a self-loading rifle (SLR), two .315 bore rifles, and other equipment were seized.

“Balghat is the only Naxal-affected district in the state, and our police force has shown extraordinary courage to deal with this threat,” Yadav said. He said that three of the four Maoists killed were women.

The CM said that the Maoists were planning a violent attack, which was tall. “Our army decisively worked and ended all armed Naxalites, before they could harm anyone … I congratulate the entire police force.”
