Kushwaha worked in the billing department of Plywood Manufacturing Unit owned by Sonam’s family. After graduating from college, Sonam worked in HR department. Police said the three traveled to Guwahati and moved to Meghalaya from there.

Success in the case was when a local guide saw the police walking near the murder of Raja and three attackers. The weapon of the murder, a Dao, also raised doubts as it was not a native of the area. Investigators suspect that it would have been purchased by the accused in Guwahati.

He also alleged that Sonam had assured the king to take expensive jewelery against the family’s wishes. The claims are being investigated by the police, including allegations that Sonam had arranged for money to pay the killers.
