India in the process of confirming the high sea treaty: Union Moss Jitendra Singh | Bharat News

India said on Tuesday that it is currently in the process of confirming biodiversity beyond the National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) agreement, also known as the High Sea Treaty and confirmed its commitment to maintain the oceans to maintain the oceans kept in the Sustainable Development Gol -14 at the United Nations Fine Conference (UNOC).

Union Moss (Independent Fee) for Earth Science, Jitendra Singh carried forward India’s statement at the conference and asked India’s proposed six-point strategic initiative to ‘clean and healthy oceans’.

He said that India’s efforts would align with the theme of Ocean Action Panel -4, which focuses on preventing marine pollution from land based sources. He said that India supports NICE Ocean Action Panels that prefer actionable results, innovative financing and inclusive participation to achieve SDG. He said, “India has already signed a biodiversity beyond the National Jurisdiction Agreement and is currently in the process of recommendation. It outlines our commitment to the protection of marine biodiversity in areas beyond the national jurisdiction,” he said.
