The murder of a 14 -year -old girl and bald rape of a minor in Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) respectively placed the NDA government backwards in the state, accusing the opposition youth Syamika Rithu Congress Party (YSRCP).

Facing the storm, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held a review meeting at his residence late on Tuesday night and directed the police officers to complete the investigation in both matters and ensure justice for the victims and their families.

In the first incident, on June 3, a 14 -year -old girl stepped out of her house in Anantpur to buy a soft drink, but did not return home. Two days later, half of his burnt body was found behind a school. On June 10, the police said that they arrested a tile worker and cracked the case who remained near the house of the deceased girl and was allegedly in a relationship with her.

P Jagdish, Superintendent of Police (SP), Anantpur, said that the King of 27, who was arrested in the case, was arrested, but was married, but was involved with the minor girl. According to a police officer, on the evening of June 3, Naresh and the girl allegedly refused to leave their wife. The incident held extensive protests in Anantapur city and SP Jagdish suspended Rajendranath Yadav, Circle Inspector, Anantpur One Town Police Station, not taking the missing complaint seriously and not to work immediately.

In the second incident in Sri Sathya Sai district, at least six people allegedly sexually assaulted a minor girl, repeatedly for three months, and filmed the Act to threaten her not to disclose it. Police booked six accused under various sections of relevant acts, including safety of children from the Sexual Offenses Act, and are allegedly looking for three others in the incident.

Even Naidu expressed deep pain over the incidents and directed the officials that the accused should be punished without any delay, the YSRCP attacked the government, saying that the coalition government had failed to protect women, and demanded accountability.

Varudu Kalyani, YSRCP MLC and Women Wing President, condemned the state government for failure to ensure the safety of women and accused them of enabling the increase in rape and killings due to negligence and complexity.

“Under the TDP rule, women live in fear. The government’s inaction has transformed the patron into predators,” he said. YSRCP is planning to protest a statewide protest to highlight the issue of lack of security of women. “Only suspension of police officers for rape and murder is not enough. It is not less than a state-proposed murder. CM Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Home Minister Anita Vangalpuri are reducing moral responsibility. He should resign.”

The YSRCP is blaming the increase in atrocities against women on the spread of uncontrolled alcohol and drugs under the TDP rule. YSRCP leader RK Rosa said, “The TDP-led government is enabling the” door-delivery “of drugs, fulfilling crimes against women.” “TDP leaders are directly responsible for these heinous acts,” he said, urged for immediate action to curb the intake of intoxicants and ensure justice.

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Bots Satyanarayana said that the party will intensify its fight for the safety of women, saying, “We will not rest until justice is done and women are protected.”

In his meeting with top officials including Chief Secretary K Vijayanand, DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, Intelligence Chief Mahesh Chandra Ladda, Naidu addressed concerns about the consumption of narcotics and said that potential criminals should know about this.
