In the last three days, more than 300 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants – in two groups of 161 and 160 – each was detained by the Delhi Police, which was flown by the Foreigners’ Registration Office (FRRO) for Tripura in Tripura in Tripura via Hindon Airbase, and left Bangladesh, said the officials.

On June 8, an official said, two groups of Bangladeshi citizens were waiting near the railway line away from Mangolpuri railway station for local train. “The external district police received information and caught 52 persons including 40 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants,” the official said.

On 2 June, 160 persons were deported in a special flight. Out of 160, 43 persons in the outer district, 26 persons were selected from Northwest District, 15 from Rohini, 16 from Shahdara district and one from southwest district.

An official said that the Ministry of Home Affairs had directed him at the end of last year to do a verification practice to identify and detain illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and Rohingya.

This year between November 15, 2024 and 20 April, about 220 illegal migrants and 30 overstigance foreigners were caught by Delhi Police. He was taken by rail and road to eastern states, and sent to Bangladesh via land boundaries.
