One of the victims in the Ahmedabad plane crash, Ranjita Gopkumaran, was a native of Pathanamthitta district in Kerala, who worked as a nurse in the United Kingdom.
Pathanamthitta District Collector Prem Krishnan S said that Ranjita was on a sick flight, and her death was confirmed after verifying all the details.
Ranjita, 42, worked as a nurse in the United Kingdom and participated from Puld village in the district. She is alive by her husband, Vinesh, two school -going children, Rithika and Induchudan and her mother Thulasi.
According to Panchayat member Johnson Thomas, “Ranjita came home from Britain three days ago. She got a nurse job in state healthcare, but came home on a short holiday to oversee her new house construction.”
Since she moved to the UK about a year ago, she wanted to complete her job contract there. “He planned to return to Kerala and work with the State Health Service,” the member said.

Before going to the UK, Ranjita worked as a nurse in Oman for eight years. Her husband was also in Oman, but later returned to Kerala, while Renjitha flew to Britain.
On Wednesday, Ranjita left home from a train to Kochi, from where he flew to Ahmedabad to catch a flight to London.
