Liquor scam: Ed attachs Congress office in Chhattisgarh, former minister's property. Bharat News

Ed said that in Chhattisgarh, a former minister in Chhattisgarh is associated with the property of Lakhma and his son as part of a money laundering investigation, which was associated with the liquor scam worth Rs 2,100 crore in the state during the previous government.

An provisional order to attach these properties has been issued under PMLA.

The ED said in a statement that the attached property includes Congress Bhawan in Sukma district headquarters, which is named after Chhattisgarh PCC in Raipur in the name of Kaswasi Lakhma and there is a house in Sukma in the name of his son Harish Kavasi.

The value of these three assets is `6.15 crore, it said.

This is the first time the federal investigative agency has attached the property of a political party under the Money-Caraps Act.

A Congress spokesperson said in Raipur that the ED action was “part of the BJP’s political conspiracy” and said that the party would present the record of “each and every” Penny used for the construction of the office in Sukma.
