India has more nuclear warheads than Pakistan, even China has three times more warheads than India, the latest Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) Book has been released on Monday.
According to Sipri Earlbook 2025, India has 180 nuclear stored warheads as of January 2025, while Pakistan has an estimated 170. China has 600 nuclear warheads by January 2025, of which 24 are placed on warheads or missiles or are located on the base with operational forces.
The report said that India has once again expanded its nuclear arsenal in 2024 and continued to develop new types of nuclear distribution systems. It said that India’s new ‘canted’ missiles, which can be transported with metaded warheads, may be able to carry atomic warheads during peacocks, and possibly many warheads on each missile, once they are turned on. It stated that Pakistan also continued to develop a new delivery system and deposited the fertile material in 2024, suggesting that its nuclear arsenal could expand in the coming decade.
It also briefly mentioned the launch of Operation Sindoor of India. Senior researcher Matt Corda, associated with weapons of SIPRI’s collective destruction program, said, “The combination of attacks on nuclear military infrastructure and third party disintegrations turned the traditional conflict into a nuclear crisis.”
The SIPRI report also states that Russia and the United States have the largest military reserves of nine nuclear forces, including retired warheads respectively, including 5,459 and 5,177.
It said that Russia, China, India, Pakistan and North Korea have deployed double-capable missiles and all are considered modernization of these capabilities. “By the mid -2000s, only France, Russia, UK and USA deployed missiles with several warheads. Since then, China has developed two missiles to carry several warheads, while India, Pakistan and North Korea are currently chasing this ability,” said this.
Talking about India’s growing reserves of India’s nuclear weapons, it was said that these weapons were assigned to aircraft, land-based missiles and a mature nuclear trinity of SSBN.

“It has long been believed that India distinguishes its nuclear warheads from its deployed launcher during the peakkime, however, the recent steps of the country asked to keep missiles in the cannis and operate the sea-based preventive patrol in the constarts that India can move some of its warheads towards having sexual intercourse with their launchers in peacocks,”
It states that although Pakistan focuses on India’s nuclear preventive, long distance weapons capable of reaching the target in India in India are being emphasized.
It has also been stated that 162 states were the recipients of major weapons in 2020-24 and the five largest arms recipients were Ukraine, India, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, with 35 percent of the total weapons.
