Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Monday that since the formation of the NDA government in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has surpassed his predecessors, as far as the welfare of the Sikh community is concerned.
Puri said in a post on X, “PM @narendramodi ji has not done the amount of work in the last several decades for the welfare of our Sikh community and to promote its magnificent history around the world.”
Initiative of the initiative in this direction, Puri said that it was under the NDA government that the celebration of ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ was a symbol of the bravery of the young Sahibzadas of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji, who sacrificed his life to protect the country and religion. Three ‘Sarups’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were brought back to India from Taliban -ruled Afghanistan, while Sikhs were persecuted in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
In addition to a relief package of `5 lakhs for the victims of the 1984 anti -Sikh riots, major criminals of the incident were sent behind bars, even the Modi government abolished the black list of Sikhs made after Operation Blue Star. He also said that the Karatpur Sahib Corridor was opened after more than 70 years and Sikhs living in Jammu and Kashmir were given equal rights.
