The Center's Mega Outreach campaign aims

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched a large -scale outreach campaign for the implementation of its welfare schemes in more than 500 districts of the country, which aims to cover 1 lakh tribal dominated villages and houses. The outreach is judged around the ‘Benefit Saturation’ camps, which is aimed at distribution of doorstep of two major flagship schemes – the Prime Minister’s public tribal tribal Justice (PM Genman), which was launched in 2023, and Dharti Aba Janjati Village Utkash Abhiyan, which was launched in 2024.

While the PM-Janman was launched with a particularly weak tribal groups focusing on, the Dharti AABA scheme was launched as an umbrella initiative for the purpose of implementing welfare measures with the convergence of 17 line ministries. Each line ministry has been allotted budget and targets under the scheme.

Hostels, rural electrification, construction of houses under the Prime Minister’s mantras, livestock support and fisheries support and fisheries support are some welfare benefits that are being implemented through the Dharti Aba Chhatri Yojana.

After the anti -colonial tribal leader Birsa Munda, the scheme has been named Dharti Aba (father of Prithvi). Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the scheme during the Jharkhand elections last year. In the Union Budget, the scheme was allocated a state share of Rs 79,156 crore and Rs 22,823 crore in five years with a central part of Rs 56,333 crore.

Officially launched on 15 June, the outreach campaign will run for a fortnight. Its focal points are providing basic documents to tribal communities in the form of respect cards, Ayushman Bharat Card Enrollment, Grants under the Forest Rights Act, and pension accounts as well as public money accounts.

Sources in the ministry said that one of the major objectives of the outreach program was the final-mile awareness on the flagship Jenman and Dharti Aba schemes, which was below Hamlets and Block levels. Only provision was made in this year’s budget with an outlay for Dharti AABA, the Center is expected to popularize the uptake of the scheme through the outreach program.

Janjatia Gaurav Varsh of the Outreach Center is also part of the year -long festival. The Center started the festival on November 15, 2024, the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, and the ceremony is a tribute to the tribal leader and the freedom struggle of the tribal community.
