Officials said an alleged cow smugglers died, while one was injured in a firing with police in Dag district of Rajasthan.
When Hasam aka Kada was injured, his son Ishaq alias Asif died of injuries during a shootout with the police.
Dag Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Meena told The Indian Express that the incident took place around 12-1 pm. He said that the police received a tip about Hasam and his son – in both Dags, natives of Kanwari village – and Kasam and Saddam of Ghatmika, who are all desired by the police. He said that there was also information about a truck – allegedly transporting cattle illegally – although it was not found.
The SP said that all are four historians sheets and “three of them had a reward on the head, Kasam and Saddam-Saddam and all of them have at least 15 police cases, including cattle smuggling, arms act, etc.” Hasam, who had a reward of Rs 45,000 on his head, is also a case of murder against them.
Meena said that when the police discovered them, all four, who were on two motorcycles, started firing on the police. In the firing on the borders of Pahari police station, Hasam and his son Ishaq were injured, the other two managed to escape towards Haryana.
“Both the injured were taken to Pahari and then Bharatpur, where one was declared dead,” the SP said. “Two-three” police personnel also opened fire on their bulletproof jackets, while the police vehicle also hit the bullets, said that the police were prepared as the police were infamous and are known for firing on the police.
He said that the police also recovered two weapons and ammunition from the spot and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) is also investigating the case.
