Gaud, a tribal leader, was dismissed from the cabinet on 18 June, almost three weeks later when he accused a portfolio organized by CM Sawant of corruption in the tribal welfare department.

Gaud said that he has written letters to inform President Dupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Nadda about “events in the state”.

He said, “I will send this speech to Hindi, English and Marathi as well and send it to the leaders in Delhi so that they do not make any wrong story,” he said.

Gaud asked, “Does the government take a decision on the basis of media reports?”

Quoting from a book on the life of former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Gaude said that when Parrikar was ill and hospitalized in 2019, he called Goud and told him that he was asking MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar to lead the cabinet. Gaud said that he opposed the move and suggested Sawant’s name.

Gaud said, “At the time when there was a discussion about who should be the next Chief Minister, I suggested Dr. Pramod Sawant’s name … because he is my friend and former classmate,” Gaud said.

Goud said he was “happy” that he was removed from the cabinet on 18 June (Goa Revolution Day), saying that it felt symbolic that “my revolution (revolution) had always been about raising people’s voice”.
