In one day, AAP won two of the three assembly seats fought in Punjab and Gujarat, the party’s chief Arvind Kejriwal specifically targeted the Congress, which was the latest sign of partition from his India block ally.
Addressing a press conference at the AAP’s Delhi office on Monday, Kejriwal said that the results were a message for the Congress workers that his party shares “comfortable” relations with the BJP.
“This shows that the Congress now has the same situation in all the states – that the BJP is trying to win a puppet that it is helping to win …
“An average Congress worker wants to defeat the BJP, but they see how the top leadership of the party is sitting in its pocket … For all the Congress workers – there is no hope from the Congress to defeat the BJP. Only the Aam Aadmi Party has tried to save the states and this country.
Bipol victory – Both seats were held before the AAP evacuated – the party’s plans came amid the plans to come alone in the Bihar assembly elections and the UP District Panchayat elections. Senior leaders have said that they can also go alone in the UP assembly elections.
Kejriwal said: “We have won both these seats with almost double the vote share compared to 2022. This is a great sign that people are very happy with its performance in Punjab, where our government is in place,” he said.
Kejriwal said that Bipol was “semi -finals for 2027”, which refer to the upcoming elections in states including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
The party’s victory in Gujarat, he said, similarly showed how the people of the state were “disappointed” in the state with a three -decade rule of BJP.
Kejriwal said that the Bipol results also revealed that there was only a direct competition between AAP and BJP as far as the upcoming elections were concerned.
