Armed men attack the participants of the procession in Bhopal, 20 -year -old death

A 20 -year -old man died after a group of armed attackers participated in a religious procession in Bhopal on Sunday night.

According to the police, Yuvraj Banskar, who lived with his family in Bhopal and originally from Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh, was stabbed. Two others, Rohit Sen and Sanju Verma were also attacked.

The police have arrested an accused, who has been identified as Piyush Soni. A senior police officer said, “The main accused, Piyush Soni was arrested on the basis of eyewitnesses. Two other people have been arrested. We are looking for other accused persons.”

According to the police, the attack took place during a Shobha Yatra procession organized by the Yuva Hindu Utsav Samiti. The procession, which started from the Sindhi Colony and going towards the Mata Temple Square, was allegedly interrupted when armed men suddenly attacked those who were dancing to DJ music. The upcoming anarchy seriously injured the three youths. Yuvraj later died due to his injuries.

Following the incident, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh’s Congress and party state president Jitu Patwari visited Hamidia Hospital on Monday, where he met Yuvraj’s family and offered his condolences. The leaders also expressed concern about the law and order situation in the city. Addressing senior police officers on the spot, Singh said, “It is forbidden to take any kind of weapon during the rally. Will you take action if I show you photos and videos of people carrying weapons?”

Sanju, who was a friend of Yuvraj and was also injured in the attack, remembered the incident. “We were dancing during the rally. Then someone else pushed Piyush, but he caught my collar. I slapped him. As soon as we were going, he returned with his gang and attacked us. When Yuvraj died,” said Sanju.
