Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said that it is “important” that no local people were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people and increased enmity between India and Pakistan.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two Kashmiri locals for allegedly harassing the terrorists, and arrested their comments based on their question, and based on their questions, concluded that the three attackers were from Pakistan. “He (men arrested) have revealed the identity of three armed terrorists involved in the attack, and also confirmed that he was a Pakistani citizen who was associated with the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Toba,” said an NIA spokesperson.
Speaking to reporters in Gulmarg on Tuesday, Omar said, “The important thing is that there was no local participation in this (Pahalgam attack).” “Those who removed 26 people who killed 26 people were from outside.”
The Chief Minister said, “Two people have been arrested by the NIA to help him (attackers), and perhaps the NIA said he was forced to help,” the Chief Minister said. “They gave them food, etc. forced them. Let’s allow the NIA investigation to pursue, and then they will file a charge sheet in it.”
Omar also addressed the reports that Jammu and Kashmir could delay the restoration of the state, and it would be after the present government completed its term.
He said, “It is not for the state MLA or the government, it is for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, saying that the residents of the state have the right. “If the kingdom is brought, we will not stand on the way. In fact, I will ask the Governor to dissolve the assembly the next day.”
Omar also welcomed the declaration of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. “There has been a lot of destruction in these 11 days, we would like a ceasefire as soon as possible and it stands,” he said.
