Officials said a search campaign by a joint team of security forces, Pakistan-based Gem militants were running on Friday in a forest area of Udampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A Pakistan-based Gem terrorists were killed in an encounter On Thursday, along with security forces and three of their colleagues are trapped in the forest area of Basantgarh belt.
Supported by drones and sniffer dogs, the operation resumed this morning, Cordon strengthened the remaining terrorists of the group with additional reinforcement.
IGP Bhim Sen Tutti said, “In the ongoing operation in Basantgarh, there was an encounter with terrorists around 8:30 am yesterday. Due to bad weather, the operation faced challenges. The group included four terrorists.” He said that a terrorist has been successfully neutralized and the search is on to track the remaining three.
