BJP’s returning officer Samarendra Chandra Deb said that elections for the post of Tripura unit president of BJP have been held on Sunday, June 29.
“Notification has withdrawn VIDE No.1689/BJP/Sangathan Parv/2024 dated 27/06/2025, for the election of State President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Tripura has withdrawn the state to further notification issue.”
BJP sources said that the state presidential election party’s North East Coordinator Sambbit Patra and Union Tribal Affairs Union Minister was staying due to inconvenience by Juel Oram, who were overseeing the party’s main election to visit the state during the day.
According to the earlier notification, the date of submission of nomination papers, their investigation and return and final list of candidates were set on 28 June, and the election was scheduled on 29 June. The results were to be declared on the same day of the election.
Currently, Rajib Bhattacharjee, the supporting Rajya Sabha MP is serving as the party president.
The source said that the delay due to the unavailability of these leaders is only a matter of a few days, and they are likely to travel by the first week of the next month.
