The Madhya Pradesh Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department has ordered an inquiry against its own minister, Sampatiya Uike on allegations of corruption related to central funds under the Water Life Mission.

This letter was sent to all areas of the state to the Chief Engineer of PHE department and Project Director of MP Water Corporation Limited, Bhopal. They have been directed to submit a detailed report within seven days.
Uikey did not respond to calls and messages seeking comment.
The investigation stems from a complaint dated April 12, a former Lanzi MLA and a complaint filed by Kishore Samite, a former Lanzie MLA and National President of Sanuchat Kranti Party, who alleged that “ministers, officials and contractors” misused “misuse”, which meant that the central money to provide tap water connections to rural homes in a banquet state.
The complaint of summit addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi was referred to by the under secretary of MP Sarkar in a letter to the State PHE department on 30 May.
In his complaint, Samrit alleged that “under the Water Life Mission in the Public Health Engineering Department, the Rs 30 crore given by the Government of India has been misused by ministers, officials and contractors.” The complaint alleged that Uikey took a “commission in the scheme” and a large amount was taken through Mandla-based Executive Engineer.
