Police on Monday arrested a 46 -year -old man for allegedly throwing acid on a 17 -year -old boy in Perenam, North Goa.

According to the police, the accused claimed that he attacked the college student on suspicion that the boy was somehow associated with his daughter’s death in May. He also suspected that Kishore was in a relationship with his daughter.

The Goa police said that the Sindhudurg police in Maharashtra is investigating the death of the minor daughter of the accused.

The incident of Monday occurred at around 7.45 am when the minor boy was waiting for the bus to go to college. Police said that the accused reached a scooter and made a mug of chemicals with a bucket on a minor boy. At 8.20 am, the police came to know from the district hospital in Mapusa that the minor had suffered injuries. He was then taken to Goa Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

Dr. Rajesh Patil, Medical Superintendent and Professor of Surgery at Goa Medical College (GMC) said that the condition of a minor boy is unstable and he is important.

“He has deep injuries on the right side of the eye, nose, neck, shoulder and face. He was intued and sent to GMC to GMC. Will find a clear picture of the loss limit, ”the doctor said.

On the complaint of the victim’s father, an FIR was lodged in the Pername Police Station under Section 8 (2) of the Goa Children’s Act along with BNS section 109 (attempt to murder) and 124 (1) (voluntary usage etc.). Teams of police stations were formed at Parnem, Mandrem and Mopa Airport to locate the accused.

The boy’s father said that the incident happened after a few minutes when he left his son at the bus stop. The father said, “As soon as I returned home, I received a call that said that he was attacked. I reached the spot and he told me that someone reached a scooter and threw acid on him,” the father said.

Police said that the accused, a native of Dodmarg in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, was arrested from Kararaswa in Goa in the evening.

North Goa SP Rahul Gupta said that the accused confessed to committing the crime. “The accused person said that he suspected the minor boy to be in a relationship to be associated with his daughter’s death. The chemical used in the incident had been suspected … where the accused had worked. The two-wheelers used in the crime have been confiscated,” the SP said.

Police said that the daughter of the accused was undergoing treatment for typhoid and was also admitted to the hospital last month.

A police officer requested not to print the name, saying, “The cause of his daughter’s death has not yet been known and the Sindhudurg police is being investigated. In the initial inquiry, the accused said that his daughter and minor boy had first studied in the same school and later in a relationship. He decided to attack and attack him.”
