Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Thursday that the Center is committed to strengthening the infrastructure of Jharkhand and will implement national highway projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore in the state.
Addressing a public meeting in Garhwa, the minister said that so far NH projects worth Rs 40,000 crore have been completed in the state and work on projects worth Rs 70,000 crore is in progress. In addition, schemes worth Rs 75,000 crore are in the pipeline.
The ministers were in Jharkhand to inaugurate the foundation of several national highway projects worth Rs 6,350 crore and inaugurate the foundation stones. In Garhwa, he launched two important projects and inaugurated the 23-km long four-lane highway from-Shakkhi to Khajuri, and built for Rs 1,130 crore, and placed Aadhaar stone for Rs 1,330-crores, which is at a 32-kmmeter distance for the range of NH-39 to 32-3-3-3-3-3-3-32-lane. He made a series of infrastructure related announcements for Ranchi and other parts of Jharkhand.
Speaking in Ranchi during the inauguration of the city’s high flyover, Gadkari said that India’s logistics cost has once reduced to 16% of GDP as high, now to 10% and will be reduced by 9% by the end of this year. “This will help boost exports, promote industrial development and generate employment in areas,” he said.
The minister announced several ongoing and new national highways and expressway projects in Jharkhand. The mentioned major corridors mentioned Rs 40,000 crore Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Corridor, 10,000 crore Ranchi-Patna Economic Corridor (88% work completed), 13,000 crore Ranchi-Varanasi Four-Len upgrad (60% end) and 18,000-Crore-Send. He also said that 60% of the work was finished on the Delhi-Kolkata six-lane corridor of Rs 35,000-crores; The 146 km corridor passes through Jharkhand.
Apart from these, Gadkari announced new projects including the Economic Corridor of Rs 8,000 crore (121 km in Jharkhand), which will reduce the Ranchi-Odisha road by about 100 km, and is located at a distance of 7,000-crores kilometers from Raxal-Hadia Expressway to Raxal-Hadia Expressway, which will connect the bankhead for the Bahar.
He also mentioned thousands of crores of rupees, high roads and underpasses in thousands of crores of rupees, Ranchi, Deoghar, Jamshedpur and other cities for the purpose of improving traffic flows and connectivity.

Gadkari said that there is no shortage of funds for the development of infrastructure in Jharkhand. “Fund is not a barrier. Only obstacles are environment and forest approval and land acquisition. The state government should resolve these issues quickly. Once this happens, I will make sure that all projects are funded and implemented without any delay.”
Speaking in Garhwa, Gadkari said that Varanasi -Ranchi -Kolkata Greenfield Corridor of Rs 36,000 crore will be completed by March 2028. Ranchi -Varnasi Economic Corridor of Rs 12,800 crore will be ready by January 2028.
He said that the NH network of Jharkhand, which was 2,600 km in 2014, has now increased to 4,470 km. In addition, 19 aspirations of the state are connected to national highways, the minister said.
