Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Friday argued that the case of Ed’s National Herald Money Laundering was “really a strange”.
Representing Sonia, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Sinhali said: “This is a strange case … It can also be unprecedented. It is an unprecedented case. It is a matter of money laundering without any money or property. AJL’s (Associated Journals Limited) has been present for decades.
“The loan can be assigned to make someone else to loan-free … Suppose AJL’s debt was taken by Tatas or Biralas, will Tatas and Bidas be accused of money laundering?” Singhvi argued. “Yi only has an right over dividend and not on AJL’s property,” he said.
