Sources said that on 28 April, Pooja Devi was taken by her husband Kulvir Singh to Ruma Purma Hospital in a car operated by Gurdal Singh, when her condition deteriorated. Later, she died in the hospital. Singh is the cousin of Pooja’s husband and was called by his mother -in -law, Gurdal Singh’s brother -in -law Gurmeet Singh said. Pooja Devi’s father and other relatives then accused her in -laws of giving poison. Subsequently, the police started the inquiry proceedings and sub -inspector Malik was appointed as the investigating officer.

However, a few days later the postmortem report and Viskera analysis refused to play any dishonesty in Pooja Devi’s death, Gurmeet Singh said that Malik then registered a cedar against the deceased’s in -laws and Gurdal Singh.

Gurmeet Singh said that about 10 days ago, Pooja’s father called Gordal Singh at his friend’s house in money for “Ek Samajya” and Malik arrested him “very for his surprise”. Gurmeet alleged that Malik “started demanding money from his family to remove his name from the case”.

The family then approached the CBI officials who decided to lay a trap for Nab Malik after a preliminary investigation. According to the plan, Gurmeet said that he gave Rs 50,000 cash to Malik on Friday evening, as RS Pura as the first installment inside the police station. He claimed that when the CBI officials went inside the police station, “Roshni suddenly went out” and Malik, with money, disappeared.
