After being stuck here for about a month after a technical issue, a British Royal Navy Fighter Jet went to a specified feature for British engineers on Sunday, to assess it, the airport sources said.
A UK engineering team arrived at the international airport on Sunday and arrived here to assess and repair the British Royal Navy F -35B Lightning Fighter Jet, which made an emergency landing at the airport about a month ago.
A spokesperson of the British High Commission confirmed the arrival of the engineering team at the airport.
The spokesperson said in a statement, “The UK engineering team has deployed the UK F -35B aircraft at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to assess and repair, which landed after an emergency turn.”
It further said that the UK has Accepted a place offering The airport is in discussion to repair the maintenance of the airport and to finalize the arrangements with the relevant authorities, and in the overhaul (MRO) feature.
“According to the standard process, the aircraft will be transferred after the arrival of UK engineers, taking the necessary specialist equipment for the movement and repair process,” it said.
Meanwhile, the airport sources said that the fighter jet was transferred to the MRO.
