Gopal Khemka murder case: A few days after the deadly shooting of businessman Gopal Khemka in Patna, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized BJP and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing him of converting the state into a “crime capital of India”.
Gandhi, who also serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, condemned the law and order of the state government to deal with the law and order and called for a change in the government before the upcoming assembly elections.
Gandhi wrote on X (East Twitter) in Hindi, “The Brazen killing of businessman Gopal Khemka in Patna has once again proved – BJP and Nitish Kumar have simultaneously converted Bihar to the crime capital of India.”
He said, “Today, Bihar lives in the shadow of robbery, bullets and murder. The crime has become a ‘new common’ here – and the government is completely ineffective,” he said.

Gandhi said that the state government that “cannot ensure the safety of your children cannot be assigned to your future,” and urged voters to change the dispensation in the upcoming assembly elections in November.
“Every murder, every loot, every bullet – is a cry for change. Now there is a time for a new Bihar – where there is no fear, only progress. This time, the vote is not only to change the government, but to save Bihar,” he wrote on X.
