India should appreciate China’s sensitivity on Tibetan issues, the country said on Monday that it wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 90th birthday to the Dalai Lama and opposed the presence of Indian ministers at the ceremony.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said: “The 14th Dalai Lama is a political exile that has long been engaged in anti-China separatist activities and wants to separate Zizang from China under the cloak of religion.”
China refers to Tibet as Zizang.
“India needs to be cognitive about the sensitivity of issues related to XIzang, clearly look at the 14th Dalai Lama’s Anti-China-China nature, India respected China on issues related to XIzang, and stopped using those issues to intervene in China’s internal affairs. Chinese has opposed India,” said Spokisan.
