For about six minutes, as he Produced a 16-foot tall king cobra To slide into a black bag, the crowd of the audience eagerly waited, it was not sure that the snake would attack or attack in the catcher. After all, it is not common to see that a female forest officer deal with a poisonous snake and safely move it back to the forest.
On Sunday, Forest Beat Officer GS Rosti fulfilled the feat when he caught King Cobra from the Anchoruthumudi residential area in Pepra, Thiruvananthapuram. The rescue video has become viral since then praised for a brave and confident female officer.
Royny has to catch its credit and transfer an 800-odd snakes, most of them to transfer toxles from human settlements in the state capital district of toxichalanthapuram. For the last eight years, a forest officer is the only female snake catcher in Ronnie Kerala Forest Department. She is one of the first batch of women forest officials in the state.
“This is the first time I caught a king cobra. It was my dream because I started a certified snake rescue in 2019. King Cobra, a shy snake, rarely seen outside the forest. While many snakes in Kerala have saved King Cobra, I have not found it in Thiruvanthpur.”
Roshanni, the head of the Rapid Response Team (RRT) at Parutheippally Forest Range, was alerted about the King Cobra in Anchumaruthumoodi near Pepra Wildlife Sanctuary. When she and her team reached the spot, the snake was seen resting near a stream, where locals often come to bathe. With a black bag and hook, the lights stepped into the water and in the next six minutes the snake was safely secured with a knot, as the crowd breathed a sigh of relief.

While saving snakes, I never use gumboots and hand gloves. Catching King Cobra is mainly risky due to its length. When you hold the tail of a king cobra, its length enables it to faster and attack against you. To protect yourself, a king cobra can do horoscope with his head and tail at the same point, “he said.
Roshni said that his office usually receives about two dozen calls a day about snake spotting in residential areas.

I enjoy catching snakes and support my family. Many others have been trained for years, but they have not been able to catch the snake for support from family or worship.
He said that leaving snakes in the forest is risky than catching them. He said, “After being caught, tied in a bag, the snake is instigated during the release,” he said.
When she is away from the office, Roshini leaves her car or scooter to save a snake. “On most such occasions, there will be a snake in the storage of the trunk or scooter of the car. I will ride a scooter with a snake in storage under the seat,” Roshan said.
