The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to stop the release of the upcoming film ‘Udaipur Files: Kanhaiya Lal Tailor Murder’ and told the accused in the case, which demanded an immediate list of her petition against her screening, when she reopened on July 14, to bring into the notice of the court.
The petitioner’s counsel informed a bench of Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Jomalya Bagchi that the film is due to release on Friday, July 11, and demanded an immediate hearing of the petition.
Mohammad Javed, an accused in Lal’s head case, contacted the court, stating that it gives a unilateral picture of things, and may be a prejudice of the trial. The plea referred to the trailer of the film, and said it seems communally stimulating.
However, the court, which is currently working on a partial program, refused to give an immediate hearing and asked the lawyer to mention that it is mentioned after resuming the entire day operation.
On June 28, 2022, Mohammad Riyaz and Ghosh Mohammed allegedly hacked Kanhaiya Lal Teli at their shop in Udipur, which was then in a position shared by him on social media in support of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nupur Sharma. The BJP leader had commented on the Prophet during a live television debate.
At the time of arrest, 19, Javed, was the eighth person to be arrested in the case. Nine people were arrested in connection with the case.
According to the National Investigation Agency, Javed played an important role in the conspiracy to kill Kanhaiya Lal, who was accused on Riyaz, on Riyaz, before the main killer, giving information about the victim’s presence at his shop. “
