Targeting the Bihar bandh against the special intensive amendment of the electoral rolls in the Pol-Bound State, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday alleged that the opposition was politicizing the issue that he illegally joined the voter list.

Constantly supporting the electoral roll amendment, a former Union Minister, Prasad questioned the opposition’s intentions behind the bandh and asked if they are engaged in road politics to pressurize the judiciary through such a strategy.

. He said.

Prasad RJD MP Manoj Jha, Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), The People’s Union for Civil Liberty (PUCL), Activist Yogendra Yadav, and the batch of petitions challenging the amendments filed by Lok Sabha MP Mahua Motra were mentioning the batch, which will be taken by the Supreme Court on July 10.

“Is it not true that sometimes Rohingya or other such persons are illegally added to voter roles? If the work is being done with full honesty, what is the objection? The message is clear. These leaders want to politicize the issue in favor of those who have been illegally added to the voter list.

Prasad said that the conduct of opposition parties raised serious questions as 4 crore voters of 7.90 crore voters in Bihar had already presented the forms of calculations, which were translated into “more than 50% partnership” in practice with 16 days.

On the issue of necessary documents, he said that the Election Commission had clearly stated that those whose names were in the voter list till 2003, do not need to present any document, as there was a detailed amendment at that time.

“After this process, the draft voter list will be published, and time will be given for improvement. If anyone has objections, they can apply for a hearing. If dissatisfied with the decision of the Returning Officer, they can appeal to the District Collector. If there is still dissatisfied, the option to appeal to the Chief Electoral Officer … The procedure is explained several times,” he said.
