The Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday arrested the President of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) a Jagan Mohan Rao, Treasurer CJ Srinivas and CEO Sunil Kante in connection with forgery and misuse of money.
Two others, Rajendra Yadav and his wife Kavita, who are members of the Hyderabad -based Cricket Club, have been taken into custody for questioning in connection with the case.
Three HCA officials were booked last month on charges of forgery, cheating, inguin and fake documents or electronic records, dishonesty of property, criminal violations and cheating of the trust.
An FIR was lodged on the basis of June 9 complaint filed by Telangana Cricket Association General Secretary D Gurwa Reddy, who alleged that Rao contested the election by presenting fake documents in HCA elections in 2023 and along with others, completed the fund of Rs 2.32 crore.
CID sources said that during the investigation, the agency found that Rao had subscribed to a cricket club to qualify for contesting 2023 HCA elections. One of the requirements to be eligible for HC elections is the membership of the HCA-Buddhist club.

Sources said the investigation also took into account an investigation by the State Vigilance Department in the allegations of IPL franchise Sun Riskers Hyderabad that HCA had forced it to participate with a wholesale nearby.
