Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Sunday that the Bihar government will provide employment and employment opportunities to one crore youth in the next five years.
He said that to provide skill development training to connect youth with self-employment opportunities in the next five years (2025-2030), the State Government will establish a Janayak Karpuri Thakur Kaushal University.
Kumar’s announcement considers the importance of further assembly elections later this year.

“For the next five years, we are setting a goal to double the target of 2020-25 by providing government employment and employment opportunities to one crore youth. To achieve this, employment opportunities will be made in private sector, especially in industrial areas. For this purpose, a high-level committee is being formed,” Kumar said in a post on Sunday morning.
He said, “I am happy to state that till now, 10 lakh youth have been provided government jobs, and about 39 lakh people have been employed, and the target of providing government jobs/employment to more than 5 million youths will be achieved,” he said.
The CM said that under the ‘SAT Niscase’ program, the youth of the state are being provided skill development training for self-employment opportunities.
Kumar said, “In the next five years, the ongoing program will be expanded under the ‘Sat Niskay’ … A university will be established for skill development, which will be named Jannayak Karpuri Thakur Thakur Kaushal University, Bharat Ratna Janayak Karpuri Thakur Ji in honor of Bihar’s pride.”
He said that between 2005 and 2020, more than 8 lakh youths of Bihar were provided with government jobs.
