Three Indian fertilizer companies – IPL, Cribco and Coromendal – have signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia Majors, for the import of 3.1 million metric tonnes of diamond phosphate (DAP) per year for five years from 2025-26.
Agreements were signed during the visit to JP Nadda, Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers of Damam and Riyadh between 11 and 13 July.
Saudi Arabia is a major source of India’s fertilizer imports, and Ma’Aden is a major manufacturer.
In 2024–25, India imported 19.05 LMT DAP from the state, increased by 17 percent more than 16.29 LMT during 2023-24.
An official statement said, “With signing these long-term agreements for DAP, DAP’s supply will increase from FY 2025-26 to 30 LMT.”

According to officials, the visit to Nadda in Saudi Arabia focused on increasing bilateral cooperation in the field of chemicals and fertilizers. He led a delegation that included fertilizers and secretary of the Department of External Affairs and other senior officials.
On the last day of his visit, Nadda discussed with Bin Bin Ibrahim Al Khoraif in Riyadh to strengthen the partnership in Saudi Industry and Mineral Resources Minister bin Ibrahim Al Khoraf, fertilizer, petrochemical and pharmaceutical fields.

“The two ministers also signed long-term agreements between Ma’Aden and Indian companies- VIZ. IPL, KRIBHCO and Coromandel Fertilizers & Chemicalls Co.- 2025-26 After a five-year supply for five years after five years, it is said in a statement.
“The two sides underlined their commitment to broaden the scope of bilateral relations to include other major fertilizers like urea with DAP and NPK, which aims to ensure India’s fertilizer security. Nadda also met Saudi Vice President Saudi Vice President Abdulziz al-Rumahe in Riyadh on 13 July.
“He discussed ways to increase cooperation in medical fields, health services, pharmaceuticals, digital health solutions and knowledge exchange,” the statement said.
In this context, he recently noted the importance of bilateral MoUs on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s health signed during Saudi Arabia’s visit to Saudi Arabia.
Nadda appreciated the support of Saudi Arabia to Indian pilgrims during Haj 2025 and discussed the medical system for the upcoming Haj 2026 as per the Haj 2025.

On the second day of his journey (July 12), along with the delegation, along with the delegation, visited the Ma’Aden features at Ras Al Khair and visited the phosphate production plant.
