India firmly reacted strongly about the egg reports among devotees during the Rath Yatra ceremony in Toronto on Monday Monday, calling such acts “regret”.
In the procession, a woman noticed that the eggs were hurt by a nearby building and was posted on Instagram.
“We have seen a report about the disintegration created by mischievous elements during the Rath Yatra procession in Toronto. Regrets such inferior acts and are against the spirit of the festival, which tries to promote unity, inclusive and social harmony,” Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in response to the media query.

A spokesman for Mea said that he had taken the matter “strongly” to hold the criminals of the Act responsible with Canada officials.
“We hope that the Canadian government will take necessary action to protect the religious rights of the people,” Jayaswal said.
Expressing concern over the incident, former Odisha Chief Minister and state opposition Navin Patnaik said that such incidents cause deep pain for the people of Odisha.

In her post, the woman said: “Somebody of a nearby building threw eggs at us … why? Because the trust makes noise? Because we do not stop? We don’t stop. Because when Lord Jagannath is on the streets, no hatred can move us.
