CPI leader Chandu Rathod shot dead in Hyderabad during morning walk

The 47 -year -old Communist Party (CPI) leader Chandu Rathau, 47 -year -old, was shot dead by unknown assailants, when he was taking a morning walk in Hyderabad’s Shalivana Nagar Park on Tuesday morning. Rathod was a member of the CPI’s Hyderabad City Committee.

According to Malakpet police, three to four attackers attacked. The motive is not yet known.

The attackers allegedly arrived in a car at around 7.30 am and opened fire in Rathod, which was going on. They ran into the same vehicle when anyone in the park could catch them.

Police said Rathod’s family claimed that there was an enmity between Rathore and a member of the rival Communist Party. “We are investigating all possible angles in the case,” a police officer at Malakpet police station told The Indian Express.

The park is now closed for visitors, and the police have secured the crime site.

CPI national leader K Narayan told The Indian Express, “What we know was closed by his enemies. We are waiting for the details to know if there was any political rivalry.”
