In meetings with Union Ministers in New Delhi, in which Home Minister Amit Shah, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu demanded the support of the Center for the Polarm-Banckerla link project, stating that he helped in making drought in the Realsema area.
Naidu said that the proposal of this project is proposed to turn 200 TMC flood waters for Bankacherla regulator in Kurnool district. Even after meeting the needs of the upper and lower ripper states, the surplus water from Godavari flows for 90 to 120 days, he told Shah. Andhra Pradesh, being the last state on the river course, is a correct claim to fully use this water, he said.

The Polavaram project is located in Eluru and Eastern Godavari districts, while Banakcherla is located in Kurnool. The scheme includes a three-part water transfer system: lift the tunnels through Bolpal reservoir, irrigation system and Nalamala Hills in Palnadu district. Naidu said that the project would support national missions like Jal Jeevan, Blue Revolution and Make in India.
He also expressed concern about the state’s financial situation and urged the Center for additional support. He informed Shah that the 16th Finance Commission has been requested to consider the financial deficit by Andhra Pradesh due to the bilateral while allocating money.
