After the Yamani government bursting out of the murder of Indian nurse Nimisha Priya, her fate rests with the family of Talal Abdo Mahdi. However, the Mahdi family has said that “there will be justice even if justice is delayed”.
Priya’s execution was scheduled for 16 July, but was postponed by the government in Yemen amid efforts to return from home to save her.
After the adjournment, Talal’s brother Abdul Fatah Mehdi told BBC Arabic that the family demands cusus – an Islamic legal term that refers to the principle of vengeance in compassionate or anti -anti -justice – and Priya must be executed. He said that the family will neither forgive nor accept “blood money” keeping in mind Priya’s life.
An executive of Sev Nimisha Priya International Action Council said, “Now, the matter is in front of the victim’s family. They are a big task to forgive the heinous crime. We have to respect the Talal family and understand their feelings. People must be wanted in media with unnecessary comments for postpoints,”
Social activist Samuel Jerom Baskaran, who has been part of the talks for the last five years, said that the adjournment postponement was a major favor to the government from the government in Yemen. “They (Yemen government) are completely kind. Media reports in Kerala will not save Priya.
Meanwhile, in Kerala, RJD National Council member Salim Madavur complained to the state police chief on Thursday that some people were commenting on the victim’s brother’s Facebook page and this would adversely affect the efforts to leave Priya.
