Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Friday that the party stallwart was not an individual, but an expression of Kerala politics and he “killed himself” to the people of the state despite facing one of the most cruel inappropriate political attacks.
Rahul, after inaugurating a memorial meeting to mark the anniversary of the second death of Rahul, a former Chief Minister Chandy, called the political attack on the Congress stallwart “criminal”.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha said in a clear context of a multi-million solar scam, “The non-stop lie was told about his (Chandy).”
The three employees of Chandy’s office were accused of allegedly involved in cheating several persons of crores of rupees by a woman and her male partner by offering solar panel solutions.
The woman also accused Chandy and some other senior Congress leaders, including KC Venugopal, to sexually abuse her.

However, all of them were given a clean chit by the CBI, who investigated his allegations.
Rahul said that he spoke to Chandy regularly, while later facing these allegations, but the Congress Stallwart never talked about anyone in anger.

Rai Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) Congress MP said, “He was not just one person, but an expression of Kerala politics. I have truly seen him killing himself for the people of the state.”
Rahul also called Chandy a “master of political spirit”.
Earlier in the day, he paid tribute to Chandy at his grave at St. George Church, Puthappali.
