Parents were living separately in Delhi on the direction of the court, along with sharing responsibility for the child. In May, the court granted exclusive custody to the father four days a week, and the mother maintained custody for the remaining three days.

Earlier this month, the father returned to the Supreme Court, alleging that both mother and child had gone missing. He claimed that the mother was seen entering the Russian Embassy in Delhi with a diplomat.

Subsequently, the Supreme Court directed the officials to find the missing minor, hand over the child to the father and stop the mother from leaving India.
