Parliament Monsoon Session Day 1: Both houses were interrupted as opposition presses to discuss Pahgam, Operation Sindoor. Bharat News

Amidst noise opposition from the opposition, both the houses of Parliament were interrupted on Monday, demanding a discussion on the Pahgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor on 12 April, on the first day of the monsoon session.

The Lok Sabha was postponed three times – and finally for the day – as the opposition members also gave the slogan, even Speaker Om Birla urged the members that “the first day disintegrates” and the government said that it was “ready to discuss and respond to all issues” after the question hours.

In the Rajya Sabha, Leader of Opposition Mallikrajun Kharge and House Leader JP Nadda talked about the opposition’s demand for discussion by suspending the day -to -day business.

While he was speaking, there was disruption of the opposition, Nadda said that nothing would go on record except what he was saying. According to the government, the call is taken by the speaker in the Lok Sabha and the Speaker in the Rajya Sabha.

In the Lok Sabha, who met at 11 am when Speaker Om Birla called for an hour of question, opposition members raised slogans, urged them to “maintain high parliamentary standards” from the House. “We should expose the myth that the house disruptions on the first day …” he said.

Birla tried to assure the opposition that the government would address every issue. When the slogan did not stop, he postponed the house by noon.

In the afternoon, the house proceedings started again – as the opposition was opposed. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the government is “ready for discussion”. “But if there is an uproar in the house then how will there be a discussion?” He said. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also said that the government was ready to “a long discussion” on all the issues that agree with the speaker.

Around 12:20 pm, such as the interruption proceeded, the BJP’s Jagdambika Pal, who was on the chair, postponed the house till 2 pm. When the house resumed, it was postponed by 4 pm and then for the day later.

During zero hours in the Rajya Sabha, Kharge and other opposition members presented notices for Rule 267 (suspending all listed businesses and discussing an issue) to discuss the Pahalgam attack and operation vermilion).

When Chairperson Jagdeep Dhikar indicated that he was disintegrated by opposition leaders to entertain the notice under Rule 267, Kharge said “We need to know what happened”. He said, “Intelligence was failure, (J&K) LG has said (that), we have not said,” he said.

Dhankhar then gave a floor to Nadda. After wishing Kharge on his birthday, Nadda said: “The message should not go to the country that the government does not want to discuss Pahgam and Operation Sindoor. We will discuss … We will present all the points in the country and the world.”

He said that BJP member Samik Bhattacharya had asked for discussion on the matter under Rule 167 and this will happen after the time is fixed.
