In the last two days, at least 28 people have died in various states in the Northeast, with floods and landslides with heavy rains.
Officers in all the states of the region are placed on high warning, especially after Friday’s rain, which IMD blamed for a depression on Bangladesh.
Seven people were killed in Arunachal Pradesh after a landslide on National Highway 13, which was swept away on Friday night with a vehicle in East Kamg district with a vehicle with a stretch from Bana and Seppa. In another landslide -related incident, two people were killed in the lower Subansiri district.

In Assam, the city of Guwahati was brought to its knees by urban floods and five people were killed on the outskirts, in a landslide in Bonda. Schools and colleges were closed in Guwahati and Kamup districts on Saturday, and the state government announced a special casual leave for its employees who have to travel to work.

On Saturday, floods affected a total of 12 districts in the state, and three people died in flood -related incidents in Golghat and Lakhimpur districts.
By Saturday afternoon, the Mizoram State Disaster Management Authority reported landslides at 113 places across the state, and five people were reported to have been killed.

The Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority also reported six deaths in the state in the last two days. A truck driver in Nagaland was killed in a rockfall incident in Chumoucadema district on Friday.
In Manipur, the banks of the Imphal River were dissolved, affecting a large area of the Imphal eastern district. Flash floods and landslides were reported in the mountainous districts of Senaputi, Ukharul, Tameglong, Non and Ferzawal. According to the State Relief and Disaster Management Department, 277 people have been vacated and transferred to eight relief camps in the state.
