Two days after the brother of former India cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly and his wife, when his speedboat overturned in Odisha, the Puri District Administration on Tuesday surprised the Makshift office and counter of the boating operator.
The district administration started an investigation by the sub-sector of Puri to find out whether there was any negligence from the operator.
Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain said that according to preliminary investigation, the boat operator was working on a crowded beach, where the tides are usually very high, despite being licensed to operate speedbating facility at a separate location in a low-jewelery region.
“We will soon cancel the license. Also, if we find out if there was any criminal negligence, and we would take action according to the law,” Swan asked reporters.
On Sunday, Sneesh Ganguly and wife, Arpita, were part of a group in some water sports activities, when their speedboat overturned. Video footage of the accident showed life saving on the beach, trying to save tourists.

Arpita told the media that the sea was rough and the boat operators allowed fewer people on the boat compared to their total capacity, making it lighter and causing this tip.
A high wave hit the boat, causing him to turn, he said. “If they had allowed more people on the boat, it would not have been a flip. A lifeguard saved me. I have never encountered anything before, and I am still in shock,” he said.
