Hours after his arrest, a special CBI court in Chandigarh on Sunday added IRS officer Amit Kumar Single and his colleague Harsh Kotak to a bribery case in 14-day judicial custody in a bribery case.
2007-Batch Officer, Single has been posted as Additional Director General in the Directorate of Kar Daharis.
The CBI told the court that single and Kotak had allegedly demanded Rs 45 lakh from the owner and businessman of Pizza Chen. When Kotak was arrested on Saturday, Single was taken into custody from his Delhi residence on Sunday after receiving the necessary authority by the CBI.
In its remand application, the CBI said that Singal accepted the demand for `45 million bribe in a phone call with Kapoor and later accepted 25 lakhs via Kotak. The CBI said that the bribe was sought in exchange for favorable treatment after Kapoor allegedly received an anti -counter notice in February 2025.
