Foreign Embassy employee Netanyahu's 'Wanted' posters put up: Delhi Police Report MHA

Delhi Police has approached the Union Home Ministry when he found that a foreign national working with an embassy in a Western European country allegedly put up posters to take a picture of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with the word “desired” in Chanakyapuri region of the national capital, with the Indian Express.

A senior police officer at Delhi Police Headquarters said that the matter came to light around 7.30 am on May 29 when the personnel of the Chakapuri police station put two such posters on electric poles – one near the Carmel Convent School on a Malcha Marg and the other near the American Embassy School.

“He informed his seniors and asked to remove the poster,” the official said.

Police personnel were also instructed to scan all CCTV cameras in the region who was responsible.

“After scanning the footage from about 50 CCTV cameras, police personnel found that a person wearing a blue shirt and black trousers came on a bicycle at around 5.30 am and put one of the posters on an electric pole. After scanning several CCTV cameras, it is revealed that he had left one of the flats in Sardar Patail,” said that he said.

A team from Chankyapuri Police Station arrived at their residence and found that a Western European nation’s embassy works. The police left all his details in mind.

Given that the person is an embassy employee and his immunity, the Delhi Police later discovered clarity about the matter proceeding and moving forward.

A source said, “Senior police officers of the New Delhi range were asked by PHQ to prepare a report for the Ministry of Home Affairs, which is expected to coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs,” a source said, saying that the report was reported to MHA last week and is waiting for a reaction.

The concerned embassy and a Delhi Police spokesperson did not answer the questions seeking comments.
