PM Modi has dialed Northeast CMS as a flood situation in Assam, India News is affected more than 5 lakhs

Amidst the flood situation in the northeastern region of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke to Assam and Sikkim Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Prem Singh Tamang, and to take stock of the situation to Manipur Governor Ajay Bhalla.

The flood situation in Assam was critical, more than 5.35 lakh people affected in more than 20 districts, as the Meteorological Department predicted more rainfall in many parts.

According to officials, PM Modi has assured all possible help and support from the Center, which is under the flood situation after a huge decline.

The Assam CM also informed the PM on a telephonic conversation of how the continuous rains in Assam and nearby states have brought floods and affected many people.

Taking the X, the Assam CM wrote, “A while ago, the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @Narendramodi Ji called me to inquire about the current flood situation in Assam. He further said that PM Modi expressed concern and assured full support from the Central Government for relief and rehabilitation efforts.

SARMA is currently visiting Cachar district, one of the worst hit areas of Assam.

The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) in Guwahati released a ‘Orange Alert’ for four districts of Dhubri, Dakshin Salmara Stagchar, Golpara and Kokrajhar for Tuesday.
