The Ministry of Railways is planning to make major changes in the Tatkal ticketing process, which aims to strengthen it more and prevent malpractice by making it compulsory for Tatkal booking.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Wednesday that the Railways will soon introduce e-Auddar certification to book Tatkal tickets. Vaishnav said on X, “Bharti Railways will soon start using e-Auddar authentication to book tatal tickets. This will help real users to confirm tickets during needs.”
A senior ministry official said that e-Migrahan authentication would be a new step, while provision is already available to certify the IRCTC account with Aadhaar to book 24 tickets in a month.
“Account holders who combine their accounts with Aadhaar will get priority booking during the first 10 -minute tatal ticket sales. Even authorized IRCTC agents are not allowed to book within the first 10 minutes,” the official said.
The official said that the proposal for E-Aadhaar certification is part of the campaign against the use of automated equipment to book tickets online. The official said: “… Railways have inactive and blocked more than 24 million users in the last six months. In addition, about 2 million accounts have been marked as suspects and are under investigation.”
