Census reached 2027, Covid19 epidemic to avoid disruption of school education: Ministry of Home Affairs | Bharat News

The day after the announcement that the population census will be held in 2027 with a nationwide caste calculation, the Union Home Ministry said on Thursday that the practice was postponed after the Kavid -19 epidemic as the practice was postponed as its operation could “disrupt” primary education “earlier.

The Home Affairs Ministry (MHA) spokesperson posted on X, “All preparations for Census 2021 were completed. Due to the covid outbreak across the country, the census work was postponed.”

The spokesperson said that the epidemic operated his censors soon after the epidemic faced “the quality of the census data and issues on coverage”.

The delay in the census has led to political reactions. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday accused the Center to reduce the state’s parliamentary representation. In a post on X, he said: “The Indian Constitution states that the first census should be followed after 2026. The BJP has now delayed the census by 2027, which has made their plan clear to reduce Tamil Nadu’s parliamentary representation. I have warned about it. Now it has come out … We need a clear answer from the Union Government.”

Reacting to this, the MHA spokesperson said: “The Hon’ble Home Minister has made it clear on several occasions that in the delimitation practice, concerns of the southern states will be taken care of and will be discussed with all the relatives at the appropriate time.”

Reiterating the Center’s commitment, the spokesperson stated that the census process would now finish as a reference date with “moving forward” and 1 March 2027. The post said, “The budget has never been a hindrance to census, as the allocation of funds is always ensured by the government.”
