Sonam Raghuvanshi’s discovery, Honeymooner missing from Indore Whose husband was murdered in a gorge in Meghalaya, he was described by rescue officials described as some of the most challenging areas faced in India.
Meanwhile, the body of King Raghuvanshi has been brought back to his home in Madhya Pradesh, where his unhappy family members intensified the call for a CBI inquiry into his death.
In Meghalaya, rescue workers found a black raincoat with stains in search of Sonam, whose importance has not yet been established.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed a rapeling equipment on the weisavadong approach, where the king’s body was discovered, with personnel, the operation was suspended due to poor visibility and dangerous slippery conditions before landing in the gorge at a distance of about 200 meters.

‘Wet soil, slippery stone’

“This vertical gorge in Weisavadong is very challenging for NDRF. It has low visibility and has a specialty of its undivided area. The soil is wet and stones are slippery. We are managed to land up to 200 meters, but we can still not reach the ground,” Inspector Inspector, NDRF said.
Experienced rescue officers, whose teams have operated in the sub-zero temperature of Kashmir and the warm heat of Rajasthan, said that Sohra areas present unique difficulties. “The area in Sohra is very different from others in India and abroad. We have made our best attempts using rapeling equipment to reach the ground in this vertical gorge,” Lalringson said.

17-The member’s team has been trying to locate Sonam for several days, but due to the weather conditions, the last 100 feet of 300 feet gorge are inaccessible. The dense forest cover, together with low visibility and wet, slippery rocks, has prevented the ground level access, while drones cannot effectively fly due to ongoing rains.
The search operation consists of 50-60 employees of several agencies, including a special operations team (SOT), NDRF, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and fire and emergency services. Sonam’s brother, Govind has also been on the site.
On June 2, eight days after an intensive discovery through the challenging weather conditions, a police drone finally noticed what the search teams had done.
New video and a raincoat
A potential success approach came near with the recovery of a black raincoat, although its importance is not clear. “There are some stains, but we cannot confirm if they are blood stains. Only forensic will be able to say if they are blood stains. We will compare it with the available footage, to see if it (worn) the woman,” said the Superintendent of Police of the East Khasi Hills.

Meanwhile, the couple’s new CCTV footage emerged, showing them out of their hotel on 22 May. The couple was also seen examining together in Shillong. In the video, Sonam, who has now been missing for 13 days, is seen interacting with her husband in front of her with a registry book.
The investigation revealed the final known movements of the couple. On 22 May, Raja and Sonam reached Mawlakhiyat village on a rented scooter and hired local guide Bhai Vansai, who took him to Shipra Homestay in Nongroit village, where he spent the night. The next morning, he investigated and returned to Mawlakhiyat village without a guide. After leaving Mawlakiyat, his hideouts remained unknown.
The body of the king was seen by a police drone in the gorge under Wei Sodong Falls on 2 June at 11.48 am.
Sangma of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad called an unprecedented incident for the state. “This is a very unfortunate phenomenon, and it’s something we have not seen in Meghalaya before.

The Chief Minister assured the victim’s family that the officials were working deeply on the matter. “I want to assure family members to ensure that we are acting to reach the facts and depths of what we really happened.”

Body brought home
On Wednesday evening, when the king’s body reached his hometown in Indore, his sad father collapsed. Now, a large, striking poster is displaying outside the king’s Indore house, which has couples. The poster reads: “The king’s soul appeals to the central and state governments – I was not dead, I was killed. Let the CBI investigate.”
Raja’s brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi said, “My brother’s body was found about 25 km from his scooty. He was kidnapped and taken to the area. We want the CBI to investigate the case.”

The pair went missing near Osara Hills in Cherrapunji region on 23 May. After failing to establish contact with him, family members traveled to Shillong. When his search attempts proved fruitless, they turned to local authorities.
Soon after, the police found a rented scooter, used by the couple, which was abandoned. After discovering the couple, the authorities eventually succeeded in deepening the king’s disintegrated body inside the gorge.
The incident symbolizes the death of another tourism in Meghalaya this year. In April, the body of a Hungarian tourist who was missing after examining at Shillong Hotel from 29 March, was found on a standing slope in East Khasi Hills district.
