To refuse Pakistan’s involvement in a terrorist attack in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said on Thursday that India had said a 37-year pattern from cross-border terrorism from Pakistan as a 37-year pattern that he had worked only after collecting “evidence of empowerment”.
Speaking to the council on foreign relations in New York as part of a Sarva-Indian delegation coming to the United States, Tharoor answered a question from his son Ishaan Tharoor, a journalist of Washington Post.
“Ishaan Tharoor, Washington Post. Certainly asking a question in an individual ability,” Chhote Tharoor said, attracted laughter from the audience. “Most to say hi before going for their next engagement.”
After happiness, Ishaan gave an indication about the attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, killing 26 people. He asked whether any government had requested India to present proof of Pakistan’s participation and how Tharoor responded to Islamabad’s refusal.
Leader of one of the Indian delegations going around the world, Tharoor said that India was not asked to provide evidence by any foreign government. “But the media has asked the question,” he said. “I have to say very clearly that India would not have done this without assuring the evidence.”
“There are three special reasons that I want to attract your attention. First, when you repeatedly have a 37-year pattern of terrorist attacks with repeated refusal from Pakistan … American did not forget that Pakistan did not know that Osama bin Laden did not find a Pakistani safhus next to an army camp in an army camp in an Cantt city.
He continued: “Second, in Mumbai attacks, he refused to do anything with it, but one of the terrorists was caught alive-his name, his identity, his address in Pakistan, everything came out, and revealed that he was trained. He was trained. American intelligence, as well as our voice recorded.
“So, we know what Pakistan is.”

After the Pehlam attack, Tharoor’s comment came amidst an increase in diplomatic pressure, which was claimed within a few minutes from the resistance front-a group that Indian intelligence agencies described as a proxy for Lashkar-e-Taiba, have been officially nominated by the United Nations and United States as a Pakistan-based terrorist organization.
“Who are the resistance fronts?” Tharoor asked the rhetoric during his comment. “He is a banned terrorist organization, a famous proxy front of Lashkar-e-Taiba.”
The all-party delegation has visited several countries in the Western Hemisphere-which includes Guyana, Panama, Columbia and Brazil-in an attempt to present India’s position on Attravism and explain its military reaction, Operation Sindoor, which described India as a terrorist infrastructure during control.
On Thursday, the delegation met American Vice President JD Vance at the White House for a 25 -minute meeting. According to Indian officials, Vance expressed “full understanding, support and respect” for India’s measured response in view of the attack.

The Indian group consists of MPs in political spectrum – among them Sarfaraz Ahmed, Ganti Harish Madhur Balayogi, Shashank Mani Tripathi, Bhubaneswar Kalita, Milind Deora, Tejashwi Sun and former Indian Ambassador to America, Taranjit Sandhu.
In his response to his son, Tharoor had associated with a smile: “I didn’t apply it, I promise you. This man does so with his father.”
