The Tripura police on Saturday detained two persons to publicly slay a cow on the occasion of Eid in Chhanban area of Udaipur under Gomti district.
Police said that adequate security has been deployed in Udaipur sub-division to ensure that no cow is killed in the open.
A senior police officer in the district said, “We detained two persons, and we will take legal action against them according to the law. I appeal to everyone to spread rumors. Adequate security was deployed to avoid any kind of violence. Law and order should be maintained.”
There were also reports of a minority family who killed a cow in the open in Rajnagar area of Udaipur.
After receiving the news, a police team came to the spot and brought the situation under control.

A police officer said, “We have taken action according to the law. Both sides have compromised.” However, no one was detained or arrested in connection with the Rajnagar incident until this report was admitted.
In a separate event, a group of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal activists intercepted a vehicle filled with cattle and handed over to West Agarla police station on Friday.

Subsequently, residents of the border areas and cattle owners gathered outside the police station, demanding the release of cattle.
“We bought cows from Bishalgarh for Eid on Saturday. He (VHP) threatened our driver and handed over the vehicle to the West Police. Can’t we celebrate our festival?” Asked a resident.
He claimed that he had appropriate documents in his possession, yet he was designed to wait outside the police station for at least 12 hours.
In February 2022, the Tripura High Court ordered the state government to ban the sale of meat products on public places and roads and stated that Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) should prepare a long -term plan for the establishment of slaughterhouses and slaughterhouses.
