India has announced the issuance of tourist visas to Chinese citizens from this week, a step that comes as part of the efforts to repair bilateral relations under serious tension in the Galwan Valley.
India suspended Chinese citizens in 2020 to issue tourism visas in 2020 in 2020, but the restrictions continued in view of the Eastern Ladakh border line.
The Indian Embassy in Beijing said that Chinese citizens can apply for tourist visas from Thursday.
In a notification, it also explained the documents submitted to the respective Indian visa application centers in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou along with the necessary procedures to apply for visas.
The decision to resume the tourism visa by the Indian Embassy came half after about a week when External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held extensive conversation with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing.

Jaishankar visited China on 14–15 July, mainly to participate in a conclusion of the Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The Minister of External Affairs also interacted with Chinese vice -president Han Zheng and told him that continuing the generalization of bilateral relations could have mutually beneficial results.

In the last few months, India and China have taken several measures to repair seriously nasal bilateral relations after a deadly clash between the two terrorists in June 2020.
Efforts were started by Indian and Chinese militants to normalize the relationship after finishing their face with the Line of Real Control (LAC) in October last year.
In his initial remarks at the meeting with Wang, Jaishankar said that bilateral relationship needs to be taken to take both sides to “see a far-wide approach”.
Last month, both sides resumed the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra after a gap of nearly five years.
